Generali China Life Insurance Company Limited is a joint-venture between Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. (Generali) and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). It was the first Sino-foreign joint-venture insurance company approved for operation by the Chinese authorities after China joined the World Trade Organization. The registered capital of the company is RMB1.3 billion. With the backing of the Generali’s 170 years of insurance experience and both shareholders financial strength, the company’s vision is growing to be a first class insurance company . On Dec. 16, 2004, we became the first joint venture (or foreign-owned company) to be approved to conduct group insurance in China after about 2 years’ preparation.
At the beginning of year 2005, we successfully launched the CNPC group pension scheme, the biggest group pension policy in China, with a premium income of 20 billion yuan.
So far, we have started our group business in Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Wuxi, Foshan and Shenzhen, and we are establishing more and more service network in other areas. In this short two years, Generalichina has successfully provide group insurance service to many large clients, such as GE, Exxon Mobil, FedEx(China), FIAT, ABN, and so on. Our high quality and professional service is being widely praised by our clients.
